SafetySkills, in partnership with the University of South Florida, now offers the following courses in English:
- OSHA 10 Authorized General Industry
- OSHA 30 Authorized General Industry
- OSHA 10 Authorized Construction
- OSHA 30 Authorized Construction
These courses are regulated, unlike the unregulated SafetySkills 10-hour OSHA course. For more information on regulated versus unregulated OSHA courses, please click here.
While these courses will populate in the Courses tab of your account, they do require a different process to be assigned to your learners.
To assign an OSHA Authorized course:
You will first need to contact your SafetySkills Training Success Manager. They will discuss purchasing details with you for the courses, which must be paid prior to the courses being assigned. Additionally, you will be provided with a spreadsheet to fill out regarding which users you would like to assign an OSHA course to, and which OSHA course you would like to be assigned. If you are not certain which topics are covered by each OSHA course, your Sales Executive can provide you with a document that details which topics are covered by each course.
Once this has been completed, the SafetySkills team will process your materials and assign the courses to your users accordingly.
Please note: Unlike other SafetySkills courses, you cannot schedule OSHA Authorized courses in advance. Your OSHA Authorized courses will be assigned upon completion of processing your request. However, OSHA Authorized courses remain open for 180 days from the date the course is first accessed by the learner.
To take an OSHA Authorized course:
Please go to your My Training tab. The OSHA course will populate under your “Current Training” tab just as any other SafetySkills course would. Begin by clicking on the blue name of the course. This will launch your OSHA Authorized course in a new tab.
Please review this page carefully. Because these courses are authorized by OSHA, they do operate differently than the regular SafetySkills courses you will be used to. These instructions will cover those differences, including how long the course will remain open, the minimum duration a learner must spend in each section, and other important instructions.
Before you can begin the course, please click the link to “Enter Student Information” at the middle of the screen.
Clicking this link will launch a pop-up window, prompting you to enter your information. This will be the information provided to OSHA when mailing your certification cards. Please enter your personal information, as this is how it will display upon the OSHA certification card that is mailed to you at the address you provide.
Once you have entered your information, be sure to click the “Save” button at the bottom of the screen. You will then be returned to the main course menu. If you need to edit the information after it has been saved, please contact support at the email address provided in the “Need Help?” button at the upper right of the course frame.
To begin training:
Please click the “Start The Course” button at the bottom of the main menu screen. This will launch your OSHA Authorized course.
OSHA Authorized courses will automatically play through the slides, but will require you to click the next button from time to time. The narrative is displayed on the left of the screen, allowing you to read along to the audio. Please note that the system will log you out if there is no activity for 15 minutes. If this happens, please just close the screen and launch the course again.
During the course, you will have access to the menu options. The Menu tab will allow you to view your progress through the sections of your OSHA course. The Resources tab will allow you to view any supplemental resources relevant to the section you are currently completing.
In the upper right, you will see buttons to view your OSHA account information, the contact information if you are experiencing issues, the table of contents for your OSHA course, and an option to log out.
Each section of your OSHA course will have a multiple-choice quiz at the end, with a final exam at the end of the course. You must get a 70% or better to pass the quiz. If you fail the quiz, the system will prompt you to review the section before attempting again. You will have 3 chances to re-take the quiz, including the final exam. Upon your third fail, the OSHA course will be locked. Please contact support using the “Need Help?” tab to have your course unlocked.
