Training doesn’t always take place online individually, and our LMS understands that. Offline courses allow you to track and manage any training done outside of the LMS the same way that you would manage training completed online. You are also able to upload additional online courses you may have. These courses will track like any other courses available in the SafetySkills system, allowing you to run reports and track learners’ progress.
To start creating offline courses, go to the “Courses” tab and click the blue “Add Course” button.
From this page, you will choose to either upload an Online SCORM, AICC package, or Offline course. You may also choose to upload an attachment as a course, which you can learn more about by clicking here.
For offline courses, you need to select “Offline” and then fill in the appropriate information and then click “Create”.
Now the course will display in the Courses tab as an available “Offline” course.
Next, you can assign users to this course by going to the “Users” tab of the LMS. You can use the check boxes on the right of the table to select which users to enroll in the course, or add specific groups to the assignment by using the “Add Group to Selection” button. Once you have selected the users you wish to enroll in your offline course, verify the number of selected users in the box is correct, and then click the green “Next” button.
This takes you to a confirmation page where you can select activation and due dates for your assignment, and also choose what email notifications you’d like to send. It will also verify the number of users and courses selected, and give you the total number of assignments you will be creating.
Once that information is filled in, just click “Assign”. This tells the system that these learners need this course and will also notify the users if you elected to send emails.
Now that you have created the course and assigned it to learners, you will need to create a session for the learners to attend the training. To learn how to create sessions, please go here.
